Mace is the lacy membrane wrapped around the nutmeg seed, peeled away by hand right after harvest and dried separately until it turns a deep amber-orange. It comes from the same Myristica fragrans tree as our nutmeg, grown mainly in Central Region. Every batch is bought directly from the farming families who grow it, and can be traced back to the estate it left.
